I believe strongly in the transformative relationship between the creation of art and the pursuit of spirituality. Art as spiritual practice is a very compelling concept and has allowed me to create purpose and joy in my life. I have been inspired by the spirituality practices of matriarchal cultures where magic and energy is embodied by everything. I engage in mystic time as often as I can through the use of sacred space and ritual. Studying alternative healing modalities such as aromatherapy, energy work, meditation and various forms of integrative healing have also contributed to my artwork and help to keep the intertwined entity of art and spirituality in a process of soulful evolution.
I choose images of the Divine Feminine because all women have the right to see their sacredness portrayed with images and symbols that have a deeper meaning. My work honors differences among cultures by utilizing symbols that represent concepts shared by people of widely different worldviews. By introducing people to the beliefs of others and by showing the interconnections of one belief system to another, each of us may experience a shared compassion for each other. It is my goal to surrender to the blessings and challenges set forth by my personal Muse and to teach women how to do the same. The creation of community, the honoring of Women’s Mysteries, and the pursuit of sparkly magic are the main reasons I create. Serving the Divine to work with a ministry of women on the transformative path using art as sacred practice is my service to the world. xo, The Mystic Maven of Sacred Transformation aka The Glitter Witch of Elemental Force (yes, there is a story for this one) |
