Visual Mystic, Visual Narrative, Visual Activism
Once again, the inspiration flowing through the cosmos has moved this imagery deeper along the sacred spiral and into soulful evolution. I'm pleased to share that I am moving through the art mastery program at the Milan Art Institute and well on my way in the college level ceramics course. I absolutely love both programs! This, along with standing at the end of a metaphorical, very long, diving board ready to jump head long into my dissertation research into the great goddesses Sedna, Hecate, Santa Muerte, and Cerridwen - powerful Goddesses of transformation - I am definitely in liminal space and activating my intuition. Something powerful is on the way.
June 2026 Update - My dissertation if finished! My artwork is an homage to the Sacred Feminine and serves as a deeply personal form of expression, offering a visual narrative that reaches beyond the limits of language. Through image, symbol, texture, and intuition, I explore ways of knowing that cannot always be articulated through words alone.Both my Master's degree in Women's Spirituality and my Ph.D. in Transformative Studies were grounded in heuristic inquiry and arts-based research, affirming creativity as both a legitimate research methodology and a pathway to transformative understanding. These academic experiences deepened my appreciation for art as a form of inquiry, meaning-making, and sacred practice.
It is at the intersection of rigorous scholarship and creative expression that I feel most alive. Integrating research, spirituality, and artistic practice continues to illuminate my work, nourish my soul, and inspire my ongoing exploration of the Sacred Feminine, transformation, and the human experience.
Below are the creative images, in both mixed media and multiple media projects, that accompany the academic research. I am delighted to say that I graduated in May 2026 and will continue my work serving students in the carceral setting. Special thanks to the Milan Art Institute, Ray Gonzalez, Joanna Powell Colbert, Shiloh Sophia, and to all of the art teachers in the community college courses I completed and the many mixed media workshops and classes I've had the privilege to experience.
